Back-Up Doulas

Birth doesn’t always follow a plan, and sometimes life happens — whether that’s a sick child, an unexpected emergency, or a very long labor where I may need a short rest. In these rare situations, a trusted back-up doula is available so you are never without support.

We’ll talk about this ahead of time and create a plan you are comfortable with. No matter what, you can count on having continuous, caring support at your birth.

Heidi VanLeuven

It feels perfectly full-circle that my back-up doula is the very person who first brought me into this world — my mom, Heidi. She recently retired from her “official” career and dove right into doula training. Truly, she’s been a doula her whole life, bringing comfort, support, and love to everyone around her.  She is the most nurturing person I know and I can't wait for her to share this gift with others.

If there’s ever a time I can’t make it to your birth, you’re in the most loving hands with her. And if you’d like to work with her directly, she’s also taking on her own birth clients. Just reach out and I'd be happy to connect you!

Erica Ciccone

I’m thrilled to share another wonderful option for back-up doula support. Erica is a dear friend, fellow CLC, doula, and an amazing mother of four. Her inspiring journey includes  advocating for her own three VBACs, and now she is such a strong and compassionate advocate for other moms. If I am ever unable to attend your birth, you can feel confident knowing you’ll be in the most capable and caring hands with Erica by your side.

Erica is also welcoming her own birth clients, and if you feel drawn to work with her directly, I’d be more than happy to connect you!
