About Me

Hi, I’m Brittney Watkins — a DONA-trained birth doula, Certified Lactation Counselor, and mom to three beautiful girls. My husband and I love raising our family in the tight-knit village of Mohawk, NY. When we’re not at home, you’ll often find us in the Adirondacks—skiing, mountain biking, hiking, or camping.

I truly believe that when a baby is born, so too is a mother. My own transition into motherhood completely changed the trajectory of my life and career, leading me toward this calling. Birth and motherhood are among the most powerful, vulnerable, and transformative experiences a person can go through.

Through my journey, I’ve learned how challenging those early days can be—and how isolating it can feel without the right support. Having the right care makes all the difference. That’s what I aim to provide for every family I work with. I want to be the steady, compassionate presence I once needed, helping each mother experience birth as it should be—powerful, empowering, and deeply beautiful.

As your doula, I’ll help you prepare for birth and create a plan that reflects your wishes and priorities. I offer calm, continuous support throughout labor and the postpartum period, including your partner and other support people—because they matter, too. My goal is to nurture your confidence, ease your fears, and help your family start this new chapter with confidence and strength.

My Philosophy

I believe in bringing back the village—a circle of nurturing support, wisdom, and community where mothers can truly thrive. A doula is not a new idea; for generations, women were surrounded by others who guided them through the sacred transitions of birth and motherhood. My work is simply a return to that kind of care: helping families feel supported, empowered, and confident in their natural abilities.

I’m passionate about supporting physiological birth and helping mothers trust in their body’s innate capacity to birth and nourish their babies. I currently serve families throughout the Mohawk Valley, Utica, and Cooperstown, including those planning home births.

Alongside my doula work, I’m continuing my lactation education through Mohawk Valley Lactation, allowing me to expand the care I offer in breastfeeding and postpartum support.

This work is my calling and my joy. It’s an honor to walk beside families during one of life’s most transformative times.
